Description

  • Responsible for supervising and following all plant safety policies and procedures (risk assessments, peer on peer observations, inspections/audits, completion of work permits, etc.)

  • Actively participate in facility management using, Safety Programs, Improvement Task Force/Committee participation, and personal development programs.

  • Responsible for shop sanitation and organization. Responsible for efficiently managing shop activities, planning, and organizing of shop work in detail.

  • Ability to work without direct supervision upholding a high standard of personal and team performance.

  • Communicate job knowledge and process change with team members.

  • Work with Vendors and Procurement to facilitate the purchase of parts and other supplies; thus, ensuring delivery when needed.

  • Responsible for the oversight of major maintenance and repair of automobiles, trucks, tractors, and farm related equipment including purpose built hop combines and other specialized equipment.

  • Able to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions and determine the appropriate repair.

  • Ability to lead the design, modification, and construction of specialized equipment.

  • Use of PC to accomplish job tasks including, but not limited to; inventory control, work order processing, scheduling of employees and jobs.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required / 2 years trade school or other formal training preferred / Valid Driver's License required.

  • Individual must be highly motivated with a safe, positive, can-do attitude.

  • Demonstrate strong commitment to achieving company goals by focusing on safety, quality, and productivity through plant excellence programs with a focus on continuous improvements and standardization of jobs.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with both strong verbal and written skills.

  • Must have the ability to solve and help team members work through complex problems.

  • Must have excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.

  • Must be able to share job knowledge and process change with staff. And, must have the ability to grow and develop both team members and oneself.

  • Experience in all phases of maintenance with 3-5 years fleet mechanical experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of blue prints, machinery, materials, and methods a plus.

  • Must possess excellent PC skills (i.e. MS Office - Word, Excel and Email.

  • Must provide own tools sufficient for job responsibilities.

  • Must be able to work extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. And, must have the physical ability to perform and meet demands of position, including but not limited to lifting 50 pounds, repetitive bending, lifting, and pulling.
