  • Experience with tissue culture preferred. Knowledge of plant physiology and chemistry preferred.

  • Responsibilities include maintaining barley tissue culture samples through Double Haploid process, data collection, media and stock solution preparation, and designing experiments to improve lab protocols.

  • Candidate should have strong organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to details and excellent observational skills as well as ability to excel and work in a team environment.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Ensure all standard operating procedures (SOP’s), plant and safety policies are followed at all times.

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

  • Team player with good communication skills.

  • Other routine tasks as necessary.


  • Required Bachelor’s Degree in Plant Sciences, Biology, Botany, or equivalent sciences

  • Experience in tissue culture, agriculture, chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology or related field

  • Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques and equipment

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Must be willing and able to work any weekday and some weekends for duration of employment.

  • Must be able to work in varying temperatures and climates.

  • Ability to continuously stand, bend twist and lift items up to 25 pounds required

  • Valid driver’s license
