Experience with tissue culture preferred. Knowledge of plant physiology and chemistry preferred.
Responsibilities include maintaining barley tissue culture samples through Double Haploid process, data collection, media and stock solution preparation, and designing experiments to improve lab protocols.
Candidate should have strong organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to details and excellent observational skills as well as ability to excel and work in a team environment.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Ensure all standard operating procedures (SOP’s), plant and safety policies are followed at all times.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Team player with good communication skills.
Other routine tasks as necessary.
Required Bachelor’s Degree in Plant Sciences, Biology, Botany, or equivalent sciences
Experience in tissue culture, agriculture, chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology or related field
Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques and equipment
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be willing and able to work any weekday and some weekends for duration of employment.
Must be able to work in varying temperatures and climates.
Ability to continuously stand, bend twist and lift items up to 25 pounds required
Valid driver’s license
