POSITION PURPOSE & KEY FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for managing customer relationships to guarantee Anheuser-Busch products sales into the accounts (sell-in) and to support retailers to improve Anheuser-Busch products sales to customers (sell-out). Achieve sales goals, grow volumes, and help to implement company programs at the retail level. This will include but is not limited to:
Deliver territory volume, share, distribution, and margin contribution targets by total territory, sales channel and brand within a specific geography through leveraging commercial resources (brands, programs, systems, direct reports, etc.)
Manage and lead a Sales team to achieve assigned sales and marketing objectives. Manage the sales function for an assigned geographic area.
Owner of annual territory planning, individual customer planning, promotional evaluation and customer sell-back, competitive intelligence gathering and opportunity identification
Manage, lead, motivate and develop department personnel including selection, performance management and employee relations. Coach front line and assigned people to achieve sales related objectives including volume, share, distribution, shelf space, taps, etc. Ride with employees on a regular basis to coach, train, and assist with achievement of sales goals, uncover opportunities, address retailer concerns/issues.
Build strong business relationships with key customers and consumer groups, improving customer satisfaction by uncovering and addressing/servicing customer needs
Conduct POC base visits to align with call frequency on retail accounts
Use customer data and analytical capacity to identify business opportunities in the account (i.e. products that are selling faster) and develop tactics to capture these opportunities to the retailer increasing Anheuser-Busch product sales, examples:
Sell-in new placements and displays
Increase shelf space and position for A-B products
Introduce new brands and packages
Execute changes in price points (within policy) to increase A-B and retailer sales and profitability
Sell in of price increase strategies
Plan and execute consumer programming and sales standards across channels (Retail, On-Premise, etc.) ensuring execution excellence of trade execution and POC product placement and assortment, examples:
Distribution SKUs targets
Consistent pricing information available to customers (price-tags)
Accurate signage and trade marketing material in the account
Ensure proper product/quality freshness & packaging standards in line with monthly Finish Product Loss (FPL) budget
Build supportive partnerships and maintain consistent daily communication with Telesales Representative using their capabilities as a resource to coordinate transactional activities (i.e. order taking) freeing time to focus on other value-added activities in the account.
Identify and leverage business opportunities in current account base (i.e. new products, activation activities, etc.) and with non-buy accounts (i.e. new customers)
Work with the credit department to resolve credit issues including collecting past due balances.
Attend sales/team meetings along with daily interaction with manager to discuss sales issues, competitive activities, and opportunities to maximize sales efforts.
Execution of call cycle and administrative duties (routine management)
Manage account level POCM requests that drive AB & Retailer sales & Profitability
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
University Degree required
Previous experience in field sales or packaged goods an asset
Self-motivated / Results-oriented individual
Strong selling skills and abilities
Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment
Strong leadership, influencing, and negotiating skills. Demonstrated ability to get things accomplished through direct reports. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and professionally at all levels of the organization.
Excellent relationship building and follow-up skills
Budget management experience, analytical skills, strong business acumen
Strong communication skills & the ability to communicate with diverse retail customers and co-workers (professional/cultural/demographic) Strong impact and influential abilities
Computer proficiency and aptitude, specifically with Excel and PowerPoint
Must hold a valid driver’s license
Strong coaching skills. Ability to develop and motivate all levels of a sales team: Sales Reps, Merchandisers, Interns
