  1. PURPOSE OF ROLE

The RPO Director is responsible for leading the definition and execution of category strategies managed by the Regional Procurement office. Will also lead the strategic sourcing initiatives and optimization projects for the Category in that region. In addition, lead the Regional support for categories managed centrally by global procurement (GPO) and by RPSS. Establishes target areas for supplier development and analytic teams. Prioritizes sourcing support requests.

  1. ACCOUNTABILITIES

The key accountabilities for this role include but are not restricted to:

Strategic Category Sourcing

  • Definition & execution of category strategies

  • Define category risk assessment

  • Execute strategic sourcing initiatives with multifunctional teams (Global and Regional Procurement, RPSS and procurement capabilities group)

  • Manage supplier relationship and develop collaborative initiatives

  • Maximizes customer satisfaction by procuring the highest quality materials and services and provide information/services which generate the lowest total system cost.

  • Validate and approve analysis of categories and market analysis

  • Define Supply security/assurance & supplier development directions

Manage Contracts

  • Ensure contract compliance

  • Negotiate with suppliers and select the best option

  • Review, sign and ensure implementation of negotiated contracts/PO’s

  • Resolve outstanding contract/PO issues and claims

The Regional Category Management Director role holds the responsibility to execute strategic sourcing projects across category. These projects may involve GPO colleagues together with Regional and local Procurement employees from RPO and RPSS structures. The Regional Category Management Director is responsible to ensure compliance in all Sourcing Projects.

  • TheRegional Category Management Director is responsible for all Strategic Category Sourcing in Region Leading multinational teams to achieve zone and entity goals.

  • TheRegional Category Management Director has the end-to-end responsibility of all contracts in the Region.

  • The role must ensure the category managers follow all compliance requirements (legal, finance etc)

  • Drive continuous improvement in the Region through value engineering projects

  • Leading innovation projects from definition to execution

Qualifications

Education

  • BS in Business Administration, Engineering or related field required, MBA/MS preferred.

Critical skills needed for success in this position:

  • Proven analytical skills required, working knowledge of statistical methods

  • Project -management skills

  • Leadership and coaching skills

  • Strategic and tactical mastery of multiple procurement categories, negotiation and influence skills required.

  • Ability to work with minimal direction.

  • Developing collaborative relationships for the purpose of accomplishing work objectives; developing relationships with other individuals by listening, sharing ideas, and appreciating others’ efforts

  • Languages: English (and Local when applied) as the working language, other languages are an advantage

  • Ability to conceptualize business impact focused analytics

Preferred skills for this position:

  • 5 years of hands-on procurement / category management experience

  • Experience in FMCG / CPG industry

  • Understanding of sourcing and analytics tools such as Ariba, Emptoris, SAP MM/SRM, advanced MS Excel, MS Access, Database tools (SQL etc)

  • Basic knowledge on using e-sourcing tools

  • Experience in MRO/Capex preferred.

  • Knowledge of SAP Procurement System preferred
